ABOUT US
In 1934, Russell & Edna Baumgard sold their New Commercial Hotel in downtown Jefferson and bought the tavern and 2 lane bowling house on East Racine St. from Russell's step father, George Leibel. Shortly thereafter 2 more lanes were added. In 1947, Russell built a new addition and added 2 more lanes for a total of 6 at the now named Baumy's Lanes. In 1956, Baumy's put in automatic pinsetters (among the first bowling establishments in Wisconsin to do so).
From 1964-1974, Russell & Edna's son, Leland Baumgard and his wife, Janet, ran the bowling alley. In 1974, Edna sold Baumy's to her grandson and his wife, Greg & Bobbie Rue. In 1978, the present bowling center was built. Six more lanes were added and the name changed to Rue's Premiere Lanes. In 1995 we added automatic scoring. In 2000 we added onto our kitchen area so we could expand our food service, which now also includes making our own fresh baked pizzas.
In 2010, we added a smoker's porch off of our bar room so that our customers who wish to smoke may do so in a clean, comfortable and dry area.
We continue to remodel our center to keep an up to date and attractive establishment.
